HOWEVER sadly where it came to Secretarial back up it seems to be non existent!!! I attended Mr Almeyda’s Clinic at R.B.H on 18th October 2018. I received a cc from R.B.H dated 24th October which instead of being sent to my surgery - Circuit Lane, where I had requested correspondence to be sent to Doctor Morando, a lady doctor whom I am wishing to be my Doctor since returning back to Circuit Lane Surgery at Southcote ( after having returned there from Western Elms Surgery, as both surgeries are being run under same umbrella and Curcuirt Lane is so much nearer for me, so transferred back after just 8 months) .... however the cc was sent to someone and somewhere I have never heard of or had anything to do with - ie., a Dr.Ali, University Health Centre, 9 Northcourt Avenue, Reading, RG2 7HE???? Not only has this copy been sent to the wrong place and person - the detail in it is in question!? My age has suddenly dropped by ten whole years!! (although this would be fantastic for me, in reality it is WRONG! I really do need this all looked at to ensure that the detail of the letter actually refers to my individual medical details rather than another lady ten years younger who is registered with the Universiy Health Centre, possibly with a similar name?? I have phoned the number at the heading of RBH’s letter, a young person answered who didn’t seem very familiar with anything I was saying but did say she would ask someone to look into it. I phoned on the date I received the letter which was dated 24th OctoberI have had absolutely nothing back. Could you please look into this to rectify the mistakes in my case but also to make sure whoever is carrying out Secretarial duties or is in charge of that side of things is told about this discrepancy as it could cause untold chaos if it was occurring on a regular basis. I would just like to say that my experience with Mr Almeyda was perfectly fine, a very pleasant and presentable man who sounds very knowledgable, so I have no cause to comment in a derogatory manner as he was absolutely fine, but there is obviously a problem in the background with the secretarial department. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS FOR ME AND ENSURE THE DETAILS ARE CORRECTED ON YOUR RECORDS - I have been given a follow up appointment in 3 months time but obviously if your letter has gone to the wrong place a) I will never receive an appointment b) your surgery appointments will be going wrong. This needs URGENTLY looking into, as this is how order breaks down in any establishment!! Thankyou very much for reading this far!! Regards Carol Amor. D.o.b 12/10/46

Hi Mrs A, I am so sorry to hear that the administration around your appointment with me has been sub-standard. I have passed your details to the senior manager of the team and hope that your concerns will be addressed promptly. I have asked them to contact you directly to explain what we have done to put things right. Many Thanks for the feedback and I look forward to our next meeting. R

Hi Think this was early 2018-lost feedback card so on here. Went to RBH with anxious daughter trying to rule out physical causes of an issue. Dr Almeyda was very patient, respectful of my daughter and proactive and rather than us have to wait for who knows how long for another appointment, he did an endoscopy on the first apptmt. I was very impressed (as a psych nurse I have met a lot of doctors) with his standard of care and going the extra mile but also his communication skills and gentle signposting to other services suggestions. Happy bunnies all round!

Mr Almeyda has been looking after my teenage son. I'm extremely grateful for his professional and reassuring attitude. We've been given all the relevant information, have been offered the possible treatment options so we reached a joint decision with my son's full involvement. I would highly recommend Mr Almeyda for his professionalism and excellent interpersonal approach!

As an ENT Consultant I would rate him very high, however as a person with good knowledge of CFS symptoms and sleep apnoea symptoms he would not even get on a scale. His comment in a letter to my GP " He also presents with what he describes as chronic fatigue" is condescending and is far away from good "customer" handling. I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome in April 2003. At a risk of sounding condescending myself, I probably know more about the symptoms and effects than he does. he then states "his chronic fatigue may well be nothing more than daytime somnolence secondary to poor sleep apnoea at night" Well Dr. may be nothing more! I have written a 27 page report on the effects of CFS on me personally & even more information from the internet. For your guidance I can trace some effects back to 1985 when my habitus was not as large.

Response from Mr Robert Almeyda

Hi, I was very sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory clinic visit with me. These reviews are annonomised and therefore I cannot comment on your particular case except to say that I always strive to give my patients the best possible care and am very sorry this was not the case for you. I apologise if my letter was found to be condescending as this was not my intention. If we meet again in clinic I would invite you to discuss your concerns with me so that I can learn from your negative experience and improve my practice for the future. Thank you for the feedback. R
